Finally, an actual trip by airplane to Asheville, NC and a short drive up the mountain to visit friends in Maggie Valley. Our first airplane travel trip since 2019 due to the pandemic.

Graciously our friends cooked and planned the entire few days we visited. It was heaven! Even though it did rain for two days. Lots of time for games and conversation and beverages.

We did take a hike on the first day. At 4900 feet of elevation, lack of hiking for 18 months, using muscles we didn’t remember we had, equals breathless and achy. Still, there is nothing to compare to being outdoors in the mountains hiking. A few pictures to capture the essence.
