After two weeks of travel and the adjusted itinerary on this Viking river cruise, it just felt like a good day to do nothing. The excursion offered today was to take a two hour bus trip to Speyer, walk around, and then bus back to the ship. The second possibility was to take a shuttle bus to the city of Strasbourg for time on your own. Neither option sounded like something to do.

Here I am enjoying the ship docked in an industrial port. Some time to sit outside on the top deck, read a book, catch up on emails and just have some down time. Is this called vacation?

If you look hard, you can catch a glimpse of a church steeple between the two river cruise ships. That’s about it for me today.

Of course, there is always delicious cookies and the Viking desserts are quite good, like this Mango Pavlova.

Tomorrow there may be excursions that we will find about tonight. People who went ashore today said it was very crowded to be expected in the Summer on a Saturday.
