Day At Sea Wrap-up – 10 August, 2026

As the day goes on, time adjusting doesn’t seem to be a problem, including staying up to 11:00 PM. Maybe there is no such thing as sleep when you are on a cruise?

The afternoon lecture on Solar and Lunar Eclipses was excellent. The astronomer explained how a lunar, total annular, and total solar eclipse form before expanding into some history and science facts. The theatre seats were full with people standing along the back and side walls. When asked how many people were taking this cruise to see the Total Solar Eclipse – all hands went up. Yet, we have met a few people who did not know there was going to be an eclipse either! Here are a few of the slides of interest from the presentation.

A game of music trivia includes 20 songs, with all but 3 being British singers. We are not winners! Then bingo – again not winners, and finally Geoff showing us how to play the slot machines on board, and no winners except Geoff!

Our evening ends with entertainment by the Sky Lounge bartender with the crafts he makes from left over bar items.

A day at sea is perfect watching a beautiful sunset from the promenade deck.

I’m writing this post as the ship docks at Port Getxo which is where the ship will be for the day while everyone ventures off to Bilbao and the places beyond.
