Traveling forever to arrive at the Cunard Queen Anne ship on Sunday morning was an adventure in itself. Departed MCO on Saturday, arrive 5:30 AM at Heathrow Terminal 3, jump in a taxi to Terminal 5 to meet my sister’s flight at 7 AM, then limo to Southhampton arriving too early to board, sat in cruise terminal, and finally boarded at 11 AM.

Our taxi driver from Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 was very funny. He thanked us for being the passengers that he picked up from the Orlando flight. He proceeded to tell us how when that flight comes in, the taxi drivers all dread the amount of families with way too much luggage that arrive and need a ride from the airport to wherever. LOL

Once on the ship, our luggage arrived at our room at Noon so we could unpack a little and go explore the ship. The view of the Southhampton port from our balcony is lovely. Exploring the ship first to know how to get to food, bars, casino, pool, spa, etc. etc. It is a very different Cunard ship in many ways. Only 2 years old and decorated beautifully.

We have the best location for a room – 9th floor forward. Towards aft is the covered pool area and the buffet. Taking the elevator down below us is the casino and shops, theatre, Golden Lion, and the Nightclub. What more could you want.

After a light dinner, off to bed, to continue to adjust to the change in time. The clocks pushed forward an hour last night to get us on Spain’s timezone for the duration of our cruise. Fortunately, this is a Day at Sea so we can explore.

First stop after breakfast is the Purser’s office to get our internet working properly. The one thing about the Cunard cruise line…..nothing is easy if you have an Apple iPhone. In order to text, it will only work on WiFi with What’sApp – which I never use. Also, my iPhone won’t airdrop to my iPad on the WiFi so I have to go through a bunch of upload, download nonsense to get my photos to post in this blog. For a semi-knowledgeable person, it’s very frustrating and time consuming. The good news is that we will be close to land or in a port for the next several days so I won’t need to rely on Cunard’s WiFi and will go back to cell service. Thanks for listening!

Walk on the beautiful promenade deck, attend a port lecture, and post this blog. That’s just the morning of the Day At Sea. This afternoon will be a lecture about Solar Eclipses and Bingo! We bought our Bingo cards this morning so wish us luck!

Now what time is it? 5:20 AM or 11:20 AM ?? !!
