Coeur d’Alene is a very lovely city in the northern ‘pan-handle’ of Idaho. We have been here before, but never riding bikes! The morning is a ride to Higgins Point from our hotel. Connor M leads the way after everyone gathers. Did I mention, we have to charge our batteries for the e-bikes the night before and bring down in the morning?

Our ride from the hotel takes us along the shores of Coeur d’Alene Lake on the North Idaho Centennial trail.

The weather is warm, with some smoke in the air and a hint of showers. Our ride today includes some hills, no problem with an electric bike!

My first stop is always a bathroom LOL

At Higgins Point we see the famous statue of Higgins taking a photograph of the Coeur d’Alene Lake.
There are also a few historic and informative signs along the way.
And Steve records the ride on his Garmin watch just to make sure we know where and how much we rode today.

After riding back to the hotel, we sort through stuff, do some laundry and talk to one of our fellow riders – Jim. He has an infection in his eye that has caused him not to ride for the day so he is hanging out in the hotel lobby. Tomorrow he hopes to have ‘goggles” of some sort to be able to protect his ride safely.

Dinner is at the Bier Haus in Coeur d’Alene. Delicious beer and food – like back in Germany! Now, we are ready to ride 40+ miles tomorrow.

Scenery is beautiful. Almost looks like you’re in Europe.
OMG! 40 miles! 😳
