After dinner on the Viking Rolf, Judy and I signed up for an evening Canal Cruise, another way to experience Amsterdam. A short walk off the ship and we board the canal tour boat. We are treated to a variety of cheeses and accompanying wines to sample as we are told what we are seeing along the canals.
Amsterdam was founded in 1275. There are over 88 canals in Amsterdam. Did you know over 15,000 bicycles are fished out of the canal a year? And yes, even cars have gone into the canals, especially a few Teslas that self drove into the canals because they could not distinguish the street and the canal from each other LOL

The Opera-Ballet Theatre looks beautiful from the water. We are told people of Amsterdam do not like it because it was built on an old Jewish neighborhood’s ruins. They do like that it is known to have the second best acoustics in the world.

The bridges are lit at night and are quite beautiful. One of the canals we pass is the one of seven bridges which you can see much easier at night.

As our tour concludes, we pass the NEMO Science Museum. An interesting design. People said it looks like the Titanic ship sinking.

The Maritime Museum looks beautiful at night. Sitting right on the canal.

The tour ends and we are back on the ship. Farewell to Amsterdam as we sail away tonight.
