Toronto Afternoon – 28 September 2025

A woman Steve and I met on a world cruise in 2012, and traveled with in 2015 on another Cunard cruise, lives in Toronto. We made plans to meet up for lunch. Her name is Judy, my sister’s name is Judy and Judy’s friend is Judy. It was a triple Judy day!

We had a delicious lunch at Sazzafraz in Yorkville (https://www.sassafraz.ca/) with lots of conversation to catch up on each other’s life. Next time, I get to Toronto we will definitely meetup again.

After lunch, my sister Judy and I continue our tourist tour. We start at the CN Tower and then the Aquarium. Definitely tourist hotspots.

The tower was the tallest building in the world back when it was built in 1975. The observation deck goes all the way around the top so you can a wonderful 360 view of the city.

If you want you can hang over the edge into the glass and catch a glimpse of the baseball stadium. Sold out game going on – Tampa Bay Rays vs. Toronto Blue Jays final game of the season. (Jays won to tie with Yankees for Eastern Division!)

Also at the top, there is a restaurant where you can have dinner. Sold out for tonight. Yet, a small cafe is also located on the observation deck level and you can eat some poutine.

Next, we head to the Aquarium. Completed in 2013, owned by Ripley’s Entertainment, it houses over 20,000 exotic sea and freshwater specimens of over 450 species. The Dangerous Lagoon is an underwater tunnel with a moving conveyor belt you can stand on and just watch. It is the aquarium’s largest tank. Some of the featured sea creatures in this exhibit include sand tiger sharksandbar sharkroughtail stingraylongcomb sawfishgreen sea turtles.

I found this aquarium to be one of the most fascinating aquariums I have visited in a long time. Taking the underwater tunnel was so unique and exciting to have the sharks right over your head!!

The weather has been amazing! A great day to be a tourist in Toronto.
