Traveling to North Carolina

Now that we are into Spring and the winter season is winding down in Florida, it’s time to start some traveling again. Flying out of Sarasota airport’s new Terminal on Allegiant was very quiet. Not too many people leaving Florida yet. The old-time boarding of a plane will be quite hot in the summer!

Once on the ground at Asheville airport, find the rental car and start the drive to Lake Toxaway at 10 PM. Since it is so dark and hardly any cars are on the roads, I do not see any signs of Hurricane Helene damage. There is one part on the drive where I do have to stop because it is a one-way section where the road must be under repair. It is too dark to even see what might be going on. I arrive at the hotel at 11:15 pm after getting somewhat lost in the area where the Greystone Inn is located. Worth the drive to settle in to the beautiful accommodations. The morning view from the balcony makes me excited for this next few days of vacation!
