Our final couple of days are spent relaxing and enjoying our stay on Lake Toxaway. Dan cooked us trout and salmon on his electric smoker. Laura prepared a Caprese Salad. We enjoyed our dinner together outside on their back deck with after dinner around their firepit. Special times in the mountains.

The next morning we drove Lesley and Mike to the Panthertown Valley hike to Schoolhouse Falls. Steve and I just checked out the two hiking trails starting at the parking lot. While we would love to hike, Steve is not feeling up to anything too strenuous or involving elevation change. The trails looked like some good hikes. Lesley and Mike said it was a nice hike and the falls were beautiful.

Back to Dan and Laura’s for a light lunch and then an afternoon of quiet time and some packing strategies. Also, Tropical Storm Debby is heading to Florida so we need to come up with a plan B for our return tomorrow.

Dinner at the Grand Olde Station was a perfect birthday dinner for Steve while spending our last evening together with family. Off we go tomorrow to travel back to Florida somehow, someway!
