Leaving Graceland – 29 May 2024

No, we did not go and tour Graceland this morning. We did enjoy a good night’s sleep (maybe because of the beer?) last night and packed up our suitcases to leave for the cruise this morning.

We had thought about calling the pink Cadillac to take us for free to Marlowe’s BBQ Restaurant but decided maybe not this time. Lots of people are doing it!

I couldn’t resist walking around the hotel property again and out of curiosity into the Founder’s Garden. It turns out it isn’t quite a columbarium (or at least I cannot confirm that). It was built to accommodate personal memory time capsules of people who invest in The Founder’s Club.

Lots of perks if you join! Are you an Elvis fan and want to be close to the ‘King of Rock N Roll’s’ home at Graceland. Then this is for you! https://www.graceland.com/the-founders

Here are some of the members niches. Elvis still Taking Care of Business in a Flash!

There is a Chapel in the Woods which I finally was able to get a glimpse of by walking to another area on the property. A woman was walking towards it and asked me if I was able to get into the chapel. She said her daughter wants to be married in the chapel and she wanted to see it. Opens at 9 AM. LOL

Goodbye to Elvis!

  1. Makes me wonder: What would stop a Founder from placing ashes in their little cubby? Perhaps they are simply attempting to avoid the state regulation that accompanies being designated as a columbarium?
