Kerrville TX – 12 October 2023

While one hour of time change shouldn’t bother me, the morning wake up time seems especially early. Breakfast at the Holiday Inn is your traditional spread. What was unusual was showing up at 6:30 am and the lobby is filled with road workers outfitted in their reflective vests eating breakfast. I’m the only woman in the room! Wondering about this sign….

The morning starts off with a stop at the Visitor Center right next door to Cracker Barrel. The sign on the side of the building is quite colorful.

A short drive to the Museum of Western Art. Huge bronze sculptures on display out front and inside is their annual newer Western artists art show.

The artists work being displayed in the annual show are hoping you will also buy some of their art. A few pieces are sold, and many are still waiting.

The regular displays are also both beautiful and unique.

Some unusual pieces….

We found this interesting — the names on the wall of major donors who helped make this museum happen back in the early 1980’s.

I loved this wall of art on the outside entry way. A wall of cowbells!

Driving back thru Downtown Kerrville, I am able to take some quick photos of what else is in this town.

Clever local business too!

Dinner – more Tex-Mex at Mamacita’s – https://www.mamacitas.com.

  1. One of your best posts. Shared with Brian. Appreciate the mention of the 101 Ranch in Oklahoma, also part of the rich heritage of the True West (which ends at Four Corners, where you enter the Faux West!) ________________________________
