San Antonio – 11 October 2023

Traveling today from Tampa to San Antonio through Houston. Thankful for no flight delays. Airports were as busy as usual these days. United is now a preferred choice as their equipment and schedules seem to be reliable.

In the Houston airport, lots of construction in Terminal C as they are modernizing and adding more shops and restaurants. On the flight to San Antonio, a man in front of me is anxious about using the bathroom and starts swearing at the flight attendant who tells him he cannot get up from his seat because the pilot as told everyone to stay in their seat due to turbulence. I have not seen this type of anger in a passenger towards a flight attendant except in videos on the internet!

Arrive on time in San Antonio Airport and wait for my son to arrive on his flight from Orlando. Some nice San Antonio history exhibits and Mexican stylized cars to pass the time. Did you know the military airports in this area are the oldest West of the Mississippi? And these San Antonio airfields were used to train WW1 and WW2 pilots. My Dad trained down here and loved the song “San Antonio Rose.” 🤔

Also, what is this Mexican airline?!! Quite festive!

Once my son’s flight arrives, we are off in the rental car to Kerrville, Texas. This adventure is about the Total Eclipse on October 14. We have our trip planned for next April as well to this same area.

We came out early to scope out the area, be on vacation and find some good Tex-Mex food. Checked in to the hotel and they recommended the Acapulco Restaurant.

A quick stop at the H.E.B. Grocery store to pick up the usual supplies for the hotel room. When was the last time you saw cigarettes for sale at the checkout?

Back to the hotel and bed! A long day.
