The last day of a vacation is always a bittersweet one. You discuss what activities you have not had the chance to experience and yet you’re looking forward to being home in your own bed. We are packed and now have some time. We take a drive to the Kapaa coast where the waves are kicking up from the Hurricane Olivia heading towards Hawaii later this week.

Then back in the villa, we finish watching “South Pacific” to see what places we might have missed. Dinner is at Kauai Grill in the St. Regis Hotel only a mile from where we are staying. A beautiful view, air conditioning, great martinis, delicious food and nice treats from the chef ‘s amuse bouche, glass of champagne, flowers with our drinks and an offer to take a pix by our server.

Of course, a lot of couples were there enjoying the same as us so our pix have another couple on the outside taking their own pix – photo-bombers.

Today, we travel three different flights to home arriving tomorrow at noon. Guess we better stop at the Kountry Kitchen in Kapaa for breakfast!

I couldn’t believe the size of my pancake! I love that they deliver the bill in a SPAM can!
