Farewell Mississippi River – 5 June 2024

We are rise early to disembark the ship and board a motorcoach to the New Orleans airport. Sadly, we leave this wonderful cruising adventure for home. The suitcases are ready for us so off we go.

A last look at the mighty river…..

As we walk to the motorcoach, a large statue entitled Mother River sends us on our way.

A fellow traveler was clever and with a little help with AI, sent us a poem to remember our trip together.

Upon the river’s winding, gentle flow,

From Memphis down to New Orleans we sailed,

With friends so dear, through scenes of long ago,

Where history and nature both prevailed.

To Vicksburg first, where echoes of the past

Reside in whispers, ‘neath the Southern sky,

Then Natchez, with its mansions standing fast,

Their grandeur timeless, spirits soaring high.

St. Francisville’s charm, serene and bright,

Where Spanish moss adorns each ancient tree,

We laughed and ventured deep into each site,

With hearts as light as morning’s first decree.

In New Orleans, our journey found its end,

Made rich by cherished moments shared with friends.
