Kerrville – TCK Sculpture Prayer Garden – 13 October 2023

The Coming King (TCK) Sculpture Prayer Garden in Kerrville, TX sits atop one of the hills next to the I-10 interstate. I drove up there to see what it was all about. You are greeted at the gate with signage and then just past the entrance there is an information/gift shop. I parked there to find out more.

The lady working in the gift shop was filled with lots of information about the history of how this sculpture garden came to be and about the artist/evangelist who was led by the holy spirt to create this place on the top of this hill.

Take the road up the hill to the top and to where the garden is located. They are preparing for tomorrow’s eclipse event when the garden will be open from 7 AM to Midnight.

At the entrance of the garden is the “Fisher of Men” sculpture.

There are over 77 scriptures from the Old and New Testaments placed in the sidewalks throughout. They are in Spanish, English and German.

At the end of the Path to Heaven is a baptismal font with the sculpture of “The Coming King” on top in front of the cross. (Appreciate the man who is taking a picture of me taking a picture!)

“The Empty Cross” sculpture is 77’7” tall and 40’ across. This cross is located at the same latitude as Israel and midway between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans on I-10. Interesting factoid. Inside the cross are placards describing what it takes to be ‘Born Again.’

The other sculptures are amazing and have a scripture message on each. The purpose of the garden is not to promote art but to promote Jesus Christ. A life’s mission for Max Greiner.

All along the walkways there are rocks available to write a prayer and place in the rock gardens.

Back at the gift shop, the artist had just dropped off some eclipse art depicting where this October eclipse and next year’s April eclipse cross – Kerrville!

Leaving the hilltop garden, located at the exit, you are reminded to not leave without Jesus. Definitely a worthwhile visit.
